DIAC - UKAAN aerosol network
a knowledge exchange case study
This network promotes atmospheric aerosol research in the UK, bringing together researchers and users to exchange and transfer science and ideas, identify gaps in the research portfolio and provide a strategic view at the core-policy and science interface
Members:
- Met Office
- Reading University
- Centre for Ecology & Hydrology
- Environment Agency
- Biral
- Aerosol Society
- Cambridge Environmental Research Consultants (CERC)
- several universities
The network has spawned workshops, a research database, reports, training and education and a knowledge transfer exchange program (covering travel and subsistence for personnel exchange between institutions)
The original funding was obtained through the Knowledge Exchange Call - Networks scheme (industry), and the network will continue to be funded through NERC's APPRAISE (Aerosol Properties PRocesses And InfluenceS on the Earth' climate) programme.
