Science for industry and business
NERC's research makes a substantial contribution in many business and industry sectors. Links are particularly strong with the environmental technology, energy, biotechnology and insurance sectors, both directly and through trade associations and the Regional Development Agencies (RDAs).
The 'How you can work with us' page describes how you can get involved, for example by commissioning research, joining a collaborative research programme, supporting a training scheme or becoming a member of one of our advisory or research programme committees.
Information on how we handle Intellectual Property (IP) and turn research outputs into spin-out companies or licensing deals is on the Commercialising our science page. NERC is increasing its efforts to commercialise its research outputs and expand the market for its products and services. If you are on the look-out for ideas to commercialise, we may be able to help.
