Schools resources
NERC science is relevant to science, geography, maths and environmental studies curricula in schools, and can be used for stimulus material in a range of other subjects including citizenship, and design and technology.
We sponsor national schemes that offer inspiring role models, hands-on research experience and accreditation for pupils.
Many of our publications are suitable for schools.
A number of our research sites can offer speakers, visits and work experience.
Some of our events and exhibitions are suitable for schools, especially during National Science Week in March each year.

Contacts for schools
NERC encourages scientists to work with local teachers to develop activities that will encourage young people to take an active interest in environmental sciences.
Events at our research sites may include school visits, student placements and open days. Our scientists and other staff visit schools and colleges to give talks and workshops.
