Scoping Workshops

The eight awarded scoping studies are working together to run two community workshops, grouping the studies together into two complementary themes, 'Volatiles and Fluids' and 'Geodynamics'. These two-day workshops will bring together scientists from different disciplines, including key international experts, to exchange ideas about where significant advances can be made in each area of science over the next decade with an injection of NERC funding on the scale of a strategic Research Programme (RP).

The workshops will ensure that the community is able to feed in efficiently to the RP scoping process and also that the individual scoping studies have the input they need from the wider community in order to shape their final reports into a number of discrete Research Programme proposals (Theme Action Plans).
