Atmospheric facilities
NERC provides access to a range of Facilities in support of atmospheric research. These include two aircraft which provide airborne in-situ chemistry and radiation measurements on a world-wide basis; three radar systems which enable study of phenomena and processes throughout the atmospheric column; a laboratory providing high-quality absorption, extinction, reflectance and emission spectra from solid, liquid, aerosol and gaseous samples; and a GPS data archive enabling georeferencing of aircraft and radar observations.
