Earth observation centres
These centres have been replaced by the National Centre for Earth Observation.
Our centres of excellence do world class environmental research using earth observation data and models. They act as focus point for collaboration and training. NERC has seven centres that each receive a maximum of £2·5m over 5 years.
The centres highlighted significant environmental changes - for instance ozone depletion, atmospheric pollution, and melting sea ice.
