# = Indicative Timing Announcement of Opportunity
Q1 = April - June
Q2 = July - September
Q3 = October - December
Q4 = January - March
This information shows expected research programme opportunities. It does not list responsive mode or other NERC funding opportunities.
The opportunities listed here are driven by NERC's approved strategic Theme Action Plans. *
You can view the relevant theme action plan or any available information about each programme by clicking on the programme title. Further information on programme requirements and how to apply will be provided in the announcement of opportunity (on our funding news page, via RSS feed and on appropriate listservers).
Some research programmes will be delivered through single announcements of opportunity, while others will have recurrent or annual announcements.
This information is provided in good faith to help researchers prepare to respond to new NERC funding opportunities. However plans are liable to change, and timing cannot be guaranteed, until formal announcements are issued and proposals invited. Timing of opportunities further in the future is more tentative.
This information will be updated quarterly.
For further information contact the relevant Programme Administrator.
* NERC and its appointed Theme
Leaders consult with stakeholders on how best to deliver its
strategic priorities. Resulting strategic investment plans are captured
in annually reviewed Theme Action Plans and
approved by NERC Council. Before announcing any opportunity NERC then consults
with partners and Theme Leaders to plan and specify each research programme
in more detail.
