Oceans 2025

"Our vision for the marine environment is clean, healthy, safe, productive and biologically diverse oceans and seas. Within one generation, we want to have made a real difference."
UK Government, 2002

Oceans 2025 is NERC's co-ordinated marine science programme. Our seven marine research centres will work together to increase people's knowledge of the marine environment so that they are better able to protect it for future generations. Running for five years, this programme will improve our understanding of how our seas behave and how they are changing, and what that might mean not just for our oceans, but for society. More about Oceans 2025
