Ocean Margins (LINK)

'KT' final event

"From Margins ... To Mainstream"

The Ocean Margins LINK 'KT' (knowledge transfer) final event took place on Thursday 15 February 2007 at The Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London, W1Y 5AG.

This event marked the end of the £4·8m, Ocean Margins LINK Programme, a unique collaboration between academia and industry, which has been aimed at a better geological understanding of ocean margins.

The purpose of the "From Margins ... To Mainstream" final event was to communicate more widely the science highlights and major KT achievements of the Ocean Margins LINK Programme to a general audience composed of researchers, representatives from industry, SME's (small and medium sized enterprises), policy makers, and other interested parties.

By presenting specific projects as examples, the importance of links forged between academia and industry, the integrated, multidisciplinary nature of the research and the implications and exploitation of the results from the programme were demonstrated.

The full programme for the event is available.
