Exploring the world visually
Grid for Ocean Diagnostics, Interactive Visualisation and Analysis (GODIVA)
With the ever-increasing sophistication of computer models and the rapid growth in the number of Earth observing systems, such as satellites, environmental scientists are facing a data deluge. In order to make sense of this large volume and diversity of information, scientists need new ways to explore data visually. New technology is revolutionising how researchers view and share environmental data. The GODIVA project developed new tools to help scientists explore large amounts of data interactively, in three-dimensions or to easily combine information from different sources to reveal relationships.
