From research to policy and action
The Environment Agency used the GENIE team's projections of millennial timescale sea level rise to inform thinking about coastal flood risk and long-term waste management.
GENIE scientists contributed to the Stern Review on the economics of climate change with their projections of long term global warming.
Climateprediction.net and GENIE submitted large ensembles of climate simulations to the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Fourth Assessment Report published in 2007.
These models captured the uncertainty in future projections. Both these reports will form the basis of global climate change policy in the coming decades.
