Coastal Sediment Systems
Announcement of Opportunity
Closing date: 16:00 on 3 March 2011
Consortium style proposals are invited to deliver a major new research programme on Coastal Sediment Systems. This programme is a joint collaboration with the Environment Agency (EA) and the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) on coastal processes.
The programme directly relates to the delivery of the coastal flooding and coastal erosion challenge of the NERC natural hazards theme and UK Government's strategic goals with respect to the adaptation to, and mitigation of, climate change. This programme will contribute towards Living With Environmental Change (LWEC) objectives.
The programme objective is to improve our capability to predict long-term and regional scale change on the coasts and in our estuaries in the UK.
This call is for consortium style proposals to address four deliverables within the programme. Up to £2·8m is available for the call, and it is expected that one proposal will be funded to address all four deliverables.
Proposals for this call are invited from eligible UK researchers; see the NERC Research Grants Handbook for eligibility criteria.
The closing date for proposals is 16:00 on 3 March 2011.
