RCUK Large Facilities Roadmap 2010
Research Councils UK has released the Large Facilities Roadmap 2010. This roadmap is an overview of research facilities that are under construction or planned by RCUK and of other emerging facilities, in the UK and overseas, that are currently considered to be priorities for UK research.
The nature of facilities is evolving, so as well as the traditional large physical installations, they also increasingly include networked resources. These resources use advances in information and communications technology to underpin new collaborative methods of research. The 2010 Roadmap includes facilities for the physical and for the life sciences, for engineering, astronomy, environmental research, medicine and the social sciences.
