NERC's international role
NERC plays a major role in global environmental research and leads international programmes and initiatives. We work with the key regional, national and international partners to identify emerging environmental priorities.
The International Team at NERC's Swindon Office helps environmental scientists in the UK to access overseas funding, in particular EU sources such as Framework 7. We add an international dimension to NERC's policy and planning and also influence overseas meetings and programmes.
NERC's International Plan supports the delivery of our Strategy.
NERC's work is inherently international and the Plan details how the different aspects of our Strategy will be delivered in an international context.
NERC hosts several international science programme project offices at its research and collaborative centres, with the funding of these managed by the International Team.
