14 March 2018 (Wednesday)
Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham

The About Drought Showcase presents a major opportunity to discover more about the outputs emerging from the £12 million five-year research council-funded UK Droughts & Water Scarcity programme. The programme is aimed at supporting improved decision-making and communication in relation to droughts and water scarcity for a range of sectors, including:

  • water suppliers, energy suppliers and regulators
  • agricultural sector
  • environmental policymakers, stakeholders and regulators
  • UK businesses, ranging from high volume industrial water users to local small and medium-sized enterprises
  • community planning organisations, communities, and not-for-profit special interest groups.

As well as hands-on interaction with key project datasets, you will be able to ask the experts about on-going developments and give feedback on how best they can be tailored to support your area of interest. The showcase will give the opportunity to participants to interact with other stakeholders and researchers.

The UK Drought & Water Scarcity programme has been underway for over three years and has already led to significant advances in our understanding of the many complex, interlinked drivers of drought; the wide range of impacts and the diversity of management responses. The final phase of the programme is now underway and, over the next 18 months, will synthesise the knowledge and outputs from the four research projects to maximise the impact of the programme for a diverse range of stakeholders.

If you wish to attend the showcase, please complete the online registration form.

Registration for this free event is limited to four delegates from each organisation. We will contact you if this number has been exceeded. Please contact the Project Office at for further information.

The closing date for registration is 2 March 2018.
