Atmospheric Pollution & Human Health in an Indian Megacity Announcement of Opportunity: Initial proposals

Update 3 November 2015: The Atmospheric Pollution & Human Health in an Indian Megacity announcement of opportunity has been updated. It has been made clearer that UK applicants need to lead the Je-S submission and Indian applicants will be listed as part of the attachments of the submission. Some reference links have been updated also.

NERC and the Medical Research Council (MRC) in the UK (with input from the Newton Fund) and the Earth System Science Organization, Ministry of Earth Sciences (ESSO-MoES) and Department for Biotechnology (DBT) in India are investing in a strategic research programme on urban air pollution in the megacity Delhi and impacts on health. NERC, MRC, ESSO-MoES and DBT are inviting initial proposals for a call under this programme.

The programme is split into four themes:

  • emission validation and sources
  • processes: physical and chemical
  • exposure validation and health outcomes
  • mitigations and interventions

All applications must be collaborations between UK and Indian researchers. Applications to this call must be in English.
