Congratulations to Professor Julia Slingo

The Met Office has announced today that their new Chief Scientist is Professor Julia Slingo OBE, Director of Climate Research for NERC's National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS).
Professor Alan Thorpe, NERC Chief Executive said, 'I am delighted that Julia Slingo has been appointed as the Chief Scientist of the Met Office. Julia's contributions to climate science as well as to the development of the climate research programme for the National Centre for Atmospheric Science have been at the highest level. We look forward to continuing the strong research collaboration between the NERC-funded community and the Met Office'
