Queen's Birthday Honours

The Natural Environment Research Council extends warmest congratulations to six colleagues who received Queen's Birthday Honours this year, in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
Our congratulations go to:
Professor Peter Liss, School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia, who has been awarded the CBE for services to science.
Professor Michael Pilling, formerly director of the NERC Distributed Institute for Atmospheric Composition, University of Leeds, who has been awarded the CBE for services to chemistry.
Professor Julia Slingo, director of climate research for the National Centre for Atmospheric Science, University of Reading, who has been awarded the OBE for services to environmental and climate science.
Dr Michael Lee, formerly director of geology and resources at the British Geological Survey who has been awarded the MBE for services to science.
Mr Brian Butler, director of resource and operations for the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, who has been awarded the MBE for services to environmental science.
Mrs Sheila Anderson-Witty, formerly head of communications for the Natural Environment Research Council, who has been awarded the MBE for services to science.
