About listservers

Listservers provide a means of sending information on science research by email to subscribers, in contrast to web-based service provided by our RSS feeds.

Anyone may subscribe to a listserver. You can cancel the subscription at any time by following simple instructions you receive when subscribing.

Listservers relevant to NERC's research are administered by staff working in each areas. See the individual science area for details:

Other science areas do not have active listservers at present.

Other Listservers available are:

Website news and listserver use

Not duplicating this website
The main route for news information to be distributed is on this website and the parallel RSS feeds. Such news is not typically also sent via listservers, so please check this site and its RSS feeds as well.

Limited time-critical news
Sometimes urgent news (such as changes to meeting dates, extensions of deadlines, new opportunities with a short cut-off date) will need to be publicised immediately. Such information will be circulated by the listserver administrator responsible for relevant science areas.

Community information exchange
Listservers subscribers can circulate messages to other subscribers. Send the text by email to the listserver administrator - at their discretion they will distribute it to all the listserver's subscribers.
