The most advanced space weather radar in the world is to be built in the Arctic by an international partnership including the UK, thanks to new investment, including in the region of £4 million to £6 million from NERC.

New polar ship construction milestone

A major feat of engineering takes place this week as the stern section of the new polar research ship for Britain, the RRS Sir David Attenborough, is transported by barge from Hebburn-based shipyard A&P Tyne (Newcastle), part of A&P Group, to Cammell Laird's shipyard in Birkenhead.
