Opportunity for collaborative proposals between UK and Brazil (São Paulo)
NERC Standard Grants and Large Grants schemes will accept collaborative proposals between UK and Brazilian researchers.
Through a single application and peer review process, UK partners will be able to apply for NERC funding, while Brazilian partners will be able to apply for funding from the Research Council for the State of São Paolo (FAPESP), if eligible. NERC will operate as the 'Lead Agency', receiving applications through Je-S and conducting their review. This agreement will help remove some of the 'double jeopardy' barriers facing international research collaboration.
Applications should be submitted on a single application form, using Je-S. However, the costings for the Brazilian component, to be funded by FAPESP, should be included as a separate attachment.
Operational Guidelines and a pro-forma for the Brazilian costings are available from the RCUK website.
Please note that within the overall guidelines there are specific guidelines for applicants to NERC on page 10. These include a requirement that the UK Principal Investigators of potential collaborative proposals contact the NERC Grants Delivery Process Manager before submitting a proposal.
