NERC Doctoral Training Partnerships competition
Town meeting
Tuesday 11 December 2012, 11:00-17:00
Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, London, W1B 1NT
Registration closing date: 23 November 2012
Background and aims of the meeting
A town meeting will be held on 11 December to introduce the new NERC Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) scheme and to discuss the Announcement of Opportunity (AO) which we expect to be released in early November.
In January 2012 NERC announced it would introduce changes to the way its Training Portfolio is managed. The major change is a move away from the current algorithm-based system for allocating doctoral studentships to the use of a competition to award DTPs to institutes or consortia. This will result in funding being concentrated in fewer providers.

The town meeting aims to provide the opportunity to:
- learn more about the NERC DTP scheme;
- discuss the content of the AO and the scope of the call.

The town meeting will run over one day from 11:00-17:00. The agenda will be available closer to the meeting.
