Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs)

Announcement of Opportunity

Closing date: 1 May 2013

Call now live in Je-S

Proposals are invited for the new NERC Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) competition.

It is expected that 10-20 DTPs will be funded from this call. Funding for 240 studentships will be awarded per annum, and each DTP award will provide funding for five years of new student intake; ie nine years of funding in total.

The DTP competition is a responsive scheme; ie NERC are not specifying the areas that DTPs should focus on. Each DTP must be able to offer training across a range of subject areas within NERC remit, and may include training at the interface between environmental sciences and other disciplines, where many major research challenges exist. There is no expectation that a single DTP will cover the whole of the NERC remit.

The closing date is 1 May 2013.

DTP proposals must be submitted using the Research Councils' Joint Electronic Submission system (Je-S). Applicants should select Proposal Type - 'Studentship Proposal' and then select the Scheme - 'Doctoral Training Partnership' and the Call - 'Doctoral Training Partnership'.

Please see the full proposal Announcement of Opportunity document below for full details of the call. Applicants should note that the document has been updated since it was initially released in November 2012.
