Sustaining Water Resources for Food, Energy & Ecosystem Services in India - Scoping workshop
15 Dec 2014
NERC is inviting applications from UK scientists to attend a jointly organised workshop with the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), in India on 11-12 March 2015 (the details of the venue will be circulated in due course).
Over two days the aims of the workshop will be:
To define the scope of a new UK/India interdisciplinary call, supported by the Newton-Bhabha Fund, with a focus on research contributing to an improved understanding of water resources and its role in food, energy and ecosystem services, and through this support the economic development and welfare of India as part of the NERC and MoES funded programme Sustaining Water Resources for Food, Energy & Ecosystem Services in India.
To explore opportunities for potential future UK/India collaborations in the areas of water resources and food, energy and ecosystem services.
Applications from researchers working in the fields of water security, ecosystem services, hydrological processes, hydrogeology, freshwater ecology, water quality and related disciplines are welcome. It is expected that approximately 15 participants will be invited and NERC will try to ensure a balance of different disciplines/expertise and the number of attendees from the same institution.
Please see the Announcement of Opportunity and Expression of Interest documents below for full details of the invitation and how to apply.
The closing date for applications is 16:00 GMT on 12 January 2015.
