Location: NERC - BGS Keyworth
Closing date: Friday, May 17, 2013
Reference: IRC88112
Primary Tasks
- To incorporate geoscientific reservoir models of the subsurface into the TOUGH2 and ECLipse flow simulators and to develop suitable flow simulations for a wide range of injection scenarios. Also to consider the application of these techniques to low and/or fracture porosity media
- To analyse key storage processes occurring in the reservoir on a range of timescales (e.g. dissolution, convection)
- To develop additional software modules to link to TOUGH2 as required
- To assess current approaches to analytical modelling of fluid flow in porous media and compare these with numerical solutions
- To undertake relevant research and deliver results including maps, interpretations, reports and peer reviewed publications
- To participate in the development of further projects and proposals for relevant geoscientific research
Secondary Tasks
- To contribute geoscientific and other technical skills to the BGS and NERC programme of survey and research as required
Equal opportunities
NERC has an equal opportunities policy and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. People with disabilities and those from ethnic minorities are currently under-represented and their applications are particularly welcome. Guaranteed interview scheme for candidates with disabilities.
As an organisation NERC is currently working towards achieving Investors in People (IiP) accreditation. Our Swindon Head Office has received this accreditation.
