Research centre careers
Many of NERC's research centres and collaborative centres give careers advice and information on their own websites. Some of them also offer work experience and summer projects to school students interested in a science career.
The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) careers pages
also describe the challenges of living
and working in Antarctica.
The British
Geological Survey (BGS) careers
section gives information about careers in earth sciences.
The Centre
for Ecology & Hydrology
(CEH) offers advice and links on careers in science.
National Oceanographic Centre (NOC) offers work placements
and projects to school pupils, sandwich course students and PhD students.
If you are interested in marine mammal research, you can find careers advice from the Sea Mammal Research Unit (SMRU).
