Caroline is a logistics co-ordinator at Halley Research Station working for British Antarctic Survey (BAS).
I am responsible for getting the equipment, resources and up to 70 people on and off a research station built on an ice-shelf - this can be quite a challenge!
Working in such an extreme environment requires planning months in advance. Before joining the British Antarctic Survey I spent 17 years in military logistics followed by a number of years in the private and public sector. I can honestly say that this job makes full use of all my previous experience and still comes up with surprises.
