Openness and transparency
We are committed to being open about our information and transparent about how we make our decisions.
Wherever possible, we put agendas and reports of our main decision-making committees and boards on our website.
If we cannot do this we will explain why.
Freedom of Information Act 2000
Under this Act we maintain the NERC Publication Scheme stating:
- the types of information we publish
- how it is published
- whether the information is made available free of charge or on payment.

Environmental Information Regulations 2004
If you request environmental information from us, we will supply it under these regulations which provide broadly similar rights to the Act but relate specifically to information about the environment.
