The splitting Earth

The GAIA-TECH Robo Researchers have been specially created to introduce different areas of science to primary school children. The animations introduce key words to describe some of the science topics in a fun format and show images of some of the more extreme places where scientists work.

This episode follows the Robots as they find out about the causes of earthquakes. They look inside the Earth, and to see how tectonic plates move, and learn about the links between earthquakes and volcanoes. They also visit two sites where NERC scientists are researching their local environment.
