National Capability Advisory Group
NERC has established a National Capability Advisory Group (NCAG) as a sub-group of the Science & Innovation Strategy Board.
NCAG will support NERC in delivering its mission and strategy by considering and advising on NERC's long-term national capability needs. To do this, the group will provide strategic advice on short, medium and long-term investment decisions. This role is analogous to the theme leaders' role in advising on requirements for research programmes.
NCAG and theme leaders, together, will provide NERC with advice to plan and manage our entire portfolio of strategic science investments. This support is provided via the Science and Innovation Strategy Board.
The group will not have a role in the commissioning or managing the portfolios of national capability activity taking place in research and collaborative centres, or elsewhere.
