Developing the new NERC strategy
NERC is in the process of developing a new strategy that will cover all of NERC's business and research. The new strategy will reflect the changing context of environmental science. It will focus on the excellent, long-term environmental science, technology and skills needed to meet society's needs and to support economic growth.
NERC will engage stakeholders during the process to establish direction and key messages whilst ensuring the strategy is flexible enough to accommodate the inevitable changes in priorities over the next five years. Strategy panels have been established to develop draft content for the core elements as a basis for wider stakeholder engagement. Details of stakeholder engagement mechanisms will be provided in due course.
The draft timescale for publication is summer 2013.
